SCOPE

Adequate use of high performance and functional polymer materials requires deeper understanding of crystallization mechanism. Our recent efforts include the understanding and control of the intermediate stage of polymer crystallization. Three-dimentionally-ordered microstructures are often observed in the embryonic stage of crystallization from a heavily entangled random coil state of chain molecules. These somewhat peculiar phenomena have recently attracted considerable attention of polymer scientists.

Taking the baton from the successful series of biennial discussion meetings held in Germany and China, we have decided to organize next International Discussion Meeting on Polymer Crystallization (IDMPC2013) in Kyoto, Japan, from June 30th to July 4th, 2013.
